Site Visit : NRB Engineering Centre (R&D)
IFCCI under the aegis of its Industriues committee and in collaboration with NRB Berarings, organized a site-visit to NRB Engineering Centre
Ms. Harshbeena Zaveri, Vice-President and Managing Director, NRB Bearings Pvt Ltd and Vice Chairman of IFCCI Industries Committee welcomed the participants to the research centre at Turbhe, New Bombay and gave a comprehensive industry update. She then presented the ‘Milestones of NRB’ and the ‘Idea’ of the world back in 1990’s along with the challenges they came across in the journey.
Moving forward Mr. Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, Consul General of France to Bombay highlighted the Indo-French investments and partnerships in the automobile sector. He encouraged women empowerment in solid sectors like these stating that is a ‘Social Responsibility’ of a company towards gender balance. In conclusion he mentioned that the expertise of labour-intensive work and design engineering with will play a significant role in the growth of Indo-French business.
This was followed by a tour of the well-equipped research Centre and a panel discussion on the topic 'Digitalization and R&D - key enablers to take manufacturing to the next level' which was moderated IndusLaw being the Annual Patrons for the Industries Committee.

This discussion was a blend of the development of technology along with scientific research and information with the motto of innovation. It emphasized on the scope of design manufacturing, significant change in business by customer satisfaction, role of academia in research, ownership of the product and rights in Intellectual Property. To sum up the panel stated that ‘Presentation is a powerful tool’ and IT, science and information are now global players.

This was followed by a networking lunch. The event was well received.
