About IFCCI Advocacy

Since 2015, IFCCI, as part of its advocacy related initiatives, has actively engaged with several government departments and prominent Ministers, including various Chief Ministers, overseeing diverse portfolios.

Noteworthy among these are interactions with the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion [DIPP], later renamed the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade [DPIIT], the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India [FSSAI], National Institution for Transforming India [Niti Aayog] and various state and central Industrial Ministers including Central and State Investment Promotion Agencies. These interactions have encompassed portfolios such as Commerce & Industries, New and Renewable Energy, Textiles, Higher Education, Road Transport, Shipping & Water, Logistics, Environment, among several others.

Through these meetings, IFCCI has successfully brought together the leadership of French companies in India and relevant government authorities. These interactions have served as platforms to present pressing issues, deliberate on potential solutions, and provide clarity on regulations and policies. Additionally, IFCCI has presented whitepapers and recommendation documents outlining strategic insights and actionable suggestions, ultimately fostering collaboration to enhance the Ease Of Doing Business in India.

The IFCCI Advocacy Department was officially set-up in 2024 with the aim to:

  • Engage with state and central government bodies, regulatory authorities, and key stakeholders.
  • Address issues that impact our members in their ease of doing business at a company and industry level.
  • Facilitate dialogue between industry leaders and authorities to shape favourable business environments.
  • Organize forums in collaboration with authorities to discuss policies and regulations.
  • Publish regular industry whitepapers and reports.
