Under the aegis of the IFCCI CFO Committee, The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) organized it’s first-ever Indo-French CFO Forum on 27th February 2019 at the Embassy of France, New Delhi. PwC was the Knowledge Partner for this event.

Given the fact that over the past few years, digitization around the world has influenced the way companies do business, the role of CFOs is transforming extensively on a day to day basis. Data accuracy, for example has become utmost important in order to attain an efficient analysis for any company.

The objective of IFCCI’s CFO Committee is to create a platform for CFOs from top Indian and French companies to network and discuss best practices as well as exchange views on current industry trends.

The agenda of the forum was to evoke meaningful discussions on the recent Indian economy reforms, expectations of CFOs for the coming year and the recently announced Interim Budget.

The CFO panel comprising of Mr. Sugata Sircar, Chief Financial Officer at Schneider Electric & Chairman of IFCCI CFO Committee; Ms. Tanushree Bagrodia - CFO & VP-IT, NRB Bearing; Mr. Rajat Roy - Executive Director & VP Finance, Accor Hotels India & South Asia and Mr. Jean-Marc Fenet, Minister-Counsellor & Head - Regional Economic Department, Embassy of France, focused on the potential impact of the new standards and regulations around which finance teams function.

The session was moderated by Mr. Rohit Anand, Partner - India-France Corridor, PwC.

Enclosed are the key topics which were a crucial part of the discussion:

• Goods and Services Tax and its impact on business practices
• Digitization and its importance for CFOs, along with optimum utilisation of Artificial Intelligence
• Make In India – requirement of skilled labor to drive successful projects

The forum ended with an interactive session with the audience followed by networking.
