Shreya has extensive experience in advising domestic and international clients engaged in e-commerce, technology, financial services and manufacturing sectors, amongst others, including in relation to business and product structuring, data privacy and security governance frameworks, policies for digital platform and internal company policies, strategic and non-strategic commercial agreements, consumer protection and soft intellectual property matters.
Shreya’s work in the data privacy space involves intricate advisory on data collection, data sharing and data processing arrangements, and on the applicability and interpretation of data protection laws in India and the EU. She also provides extensive support in the structuring and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework under existing and proposed Indian laws, preparing and evaluating internal policies on data security, and guidance and support on implementation of risk mitigation processes in relation to data breaches. She also provides regulatory support on implementation of internal and external data breach response protocol and advising on enforcement measures against data thefts and breaches of confidentiality.
Shreya is at the forefront of data privacy issues in India and is one of the few Indian lawyers to advise on EU-GDPR and the CCPA. She regularly speaks on data privacy, fintech and emerging technology law issues and has authored various academic articles on the subject. Shreya has participated in numerous policy initiatives of the Government.
