Mr. P Satish Menon is the Head of Thales’s Engineering Competence Centre in Bengaluru, India. In his new role, Mr. Menon is leading the overall operations at this Competence Centre and brings his expertise in the fields of Engineering, R&D, Program Management etc. to the development of the Centre.
Prior to this, Mr. Menon served as Director and Site Lead, UTC Aerospace Systems/ Electronics Systems Center, Phoenix Arizona, USA. During this time, he was responsible for end-to-end design, manufacturing, qualification and certification of electronics systems related to Actuators (Primary and Secondary) and Landing gear. He was also responsible for the Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply chain and Technology development for the site.
Since 2010, Mr. Menon was with UTC Aerospace System’s Global Engineering Centre (GEC) in Bengaluru where he held positions of increasing responsibilities rising upto becoming Director, Engineering, leading teams of about 400 engineers with direct responsibility to three Strategic Business Units – Electric Systems, Actuation Systems and Landing Systems. Prior to that, Mr Menon was with Honeywell Technology Solutions in Bangalore, in their Flight Management Systems department from 2008.
Mr Menon’s early career was with the Indian Navy where he was commissioned as an officer in the Electrical Engineering cadre in 1987 and rose upto the rank of Commander in 2001. He retired in 2008.
Mr Menon completed BE (Hons) in Electrical & Electronics from BITS, Pilani, and Masters in Engineering from IISc, Bangalore. Mr. Menon possesses vast experience of over 30 years and has achieved Lean Practitioner Certification from Goodrich in 2012 and achieved Competitive Excellence Associate Certification in 2013.
