Practice Focus: Patents (Biotechnology and Biosciences)

Yamuna handles drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the areas of
microbiology, biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals,
medical diagnostics, chemistry and therapeutics.

She also advises clients on patentability, freedom to operate and infringement
analysis apart from managing patent portfolios for clients.

She appears before the Indian Patent Office and the Intellectual Property Appellate
Board in connection with prosecution and enforcement of patent rights.

Prior to joining the firm, Yamuna has had varied experience of over 10 years working
as a researcher and academic at various institutions. She also has to her credit several
publications in peer reviewed national and international journals.
